The body holds the wisdom we seek, birthing fresh insights into the depths of our spirit. Are we listening?
Marissa Caputo is a contemporary abstract painter and dancer. She’s been painting and dancing with expressive movement for decades, and more recently started combining them. As she began to tune in more deeply to her truth and the wisdom of the body, she experienced increasing aliveness within herself and within her paintings. Turning to the body as resource, and connecting the process of creating art with the present-moment experience of the body has acted as a dramatic opening and as a reclamation of the body as wisdom holder of truth-telling expression. To Marissa, painting is like coming home, bringing coherence to heart, body, mind and spirit.

Sometimes it’s a memory that gets stirred up inside and becomes a powerful unapologetic release, and sometimes it’s the softness that whispers to my soul, and invites me in towards deeper belonging.
